On Sunday, 17 March, a few of us were able to help clear rubbush and fallen vegetation from the brook downstream of the duck pond.
A tree branch that was overladen with ivy and had fallen across the stream was cut up and removed. Debris was removed from the trash screen at the culvert under Daws Lane, and litter removed from within and around the brook. Our thanks are due to David Broadwell, one of the City Rangers, who was able to bring a truck and help with the clearance and removal of debris off the site. He is enthusiastic about finding may effecient ways of waste collection, and we have invited him to speak at one of our Friends’ meetings, at the next available opportunity.
We plan to set other dates for park maintenance and improvement in the future.
