Minutes of 21st meeting

The minutes of the 21st meeting, held on 21 November 2012, were agreed at the meeting on 16 January 2013, and can be found by clicking HERE.

The guest speaker at the 21st meeting was Anthony French, who works for the City Council as Open Spaces Officer – Horticulture. He explained what had been done so far towards implementation of the Master Plan for the Hall grounds within the current constraints of funding. A small budget remained, from which it is proposed that additional paths be created in accordance with the Master Plan.

With regard to further funding, it was now proposed that bidding should no longer be made for grants from the National Heritage Lottery, owing to the small chance of success, but instead funding is to be sought from the ‘Section 106’ money that developers are required to allocate for improvements to local infrastructure and facilities.

There is continuing concern over the way vehicles access the Hall grounds and can be a safety hazard or cause damage. The gates installed in 2012 to restrict vehicle access are requently left open. Anthony French agreed to consult the City Council’s Environment Health team to see what recommendations they have to ensure the ground remain as safe as possible.
