Gravel was placed in the bed of Cherry Hinton Brook in August 2012, with the objective of improving the quality of this chalk stream, thereby encouraging the establishment, in due course, of plants and creatures that particularly favour this rare type of habitat.
Other improvements have been proposed by both the Friends and the City Council, and we are cooperating with the Council to implement improvements to the wildlife area as well as areas of the Cherry Hinton Hall grounds.
